Biography

Biography - Smote

Smote tickets at Eventim.co.uk, your link to everything Smote, concerts, tours, tickets, news and reviews.

Smote, the Newcastle-based psych-folk collective, conjures hypnotic, ritualistic soundscapes that blend traditional instrumentation with heavy, drone-infused psychedelia. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Goat and Master Musicians of Bukkake, Smote’s music is rooted in repetition, rhythm, and an earthy mysticism that feels ancient yet progressive. Their releases, including Genog and Drommon, have earned acclaim for their ability to transport listeners into meditative, trance-like states, all while retaining a raw, organic edge.

Live, Smote deliver a truly immersive experience. With processional grooves, layered percussion, and swelling tones, their performances feel less like conventional gigs and more like spiritual gatherings. Fans often describe the shows as “deeply atmospheric” and “mind-altering,” where the boundary between audience and performer dissolves into a shared sonic ritual. Smote’s concerts are a must for those seeking something transcendent, heavy, and grounded in primal energy.
