The Cribs are a British indie rock band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, formed by brothers Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman. Since emerging in the early 2000s, the trio have built a reputation for energetic guitar music, memorable melodies and a fiercely independent approach. Their combination of indie rock, punk influences and emotionally direct songwriting helped make them a defining band of their generation, earning a dedicated following in the UK and beyond.
Across albums including The New Fellas, Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever, Ignore the Ignorant and In the Belly of the Brazen Bull, The Cribs have created a catalogue filled with distinctive guitar driven songs. Tracks such as "Hey Scenesters!", "Men's Needs", "Mirror Kissers" and "I'm a Realist" became indie favourites, while the band have continued to develop their sound without losing the raw character at the heart of their music. Their history also includes a period performing and recording with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, adding another notable chapter to their career.
Live, The Cribs are known for translating their direct, energetic sound into intense performances where guitars, drums and audience participation take centre stage. Their extensive catalogue allows concerts to move between early indie favourites, heavier material and songs from across more than two decades of recording. For longtime followers and newer fans of British alternative music, a The Cribs concert offers the opportunity to experience a band whose reputation has been built as much on the stage as it has in the studio.
