Kimya Dawson and Adam Green began The Moldy Peaches in upstate New York in the mid 90’s originating a lofi no-folk Beat Happening style revolution in their bedrooms. Expanding the line up in 1999, they helped create the oddball anti folk scene centred around the East Village's Sidewalk Café along with fellow outsiders Jeffrey Lewis and Regina Spektor. They went on to join The Strokes on a world tour to coincide with the release of their debut album in 2001. “The Moldy Peaches” album released on Rough Trade has since become a cult classic over the years helped by the inclusion of “Anyone Else But You” on the Grammy winning soundtrack of the Academy Award winning 2007 film 'Juno.' After the Moldy Peaches split in 2002 Kimya Dawson and Adam Green have continued with solo projects and various collaborations. In 2022 they announced a string of reunion tour dates. "We're excited to be back, older and moldier," said Adam and Kimya. "Let's see if we still got it! Once a Moldy Peach always a Moldy Peach."
