What is The Play That Goes Wrong about?

Meet the VERY amateur Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, as they attempt to stage a performance of The Murder at Haversham Manor. It’s a classic whodunnit story, but when this plot is given to these accident-prone thespians everything that could go wrong, does!

From misplaced props, to forgotten lines, and from collapsing floors, to stomping on fingers, will the actors and crew make it through to their final curtain call?

Experience the hilarious mayhem and enjoy this slice of escapist comedy, guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

The history of The Play That Goes Wrong and Mischief Theatre

The Play That Goes Wrong has played at the Duchess Theatre on London’s West End since 2014, making it the West End’s longest running comedy. It also won the 2014 WhatsOnStage Award and 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy . Outside of London, The Play That Goes Wrong has embarked on 5 UK tours, a stint on Broadway, and Australian and US tours.

Mischief Theatre, the company behind The Play That Goes Wrong, was founded in 2008 by a group of students from LAMDA. The group originally began by performing improvised comedy shows but eventually expanded to full comedic theatrical performances.
