The Rifles are a celebrated British indie rock band, known for their infectious melodies, sharp lyrics, and energetic performances. Formed in 2003 in Chingford, London, the band has built a loyal fanbase over the years, becoming a staple in the UK’s indie music scene. The original lineup features Joel Stoker on vocals and guitar, Lucas Crowther on guitar, Robert Pyne on bass, and Grant Marsh on drums, with recent additions including Lee Burgess and Dean Mumford.

The Rifles’ sound is a distinctive blend of jangly guitars, driving rhythms, and anthemic choruses, drawing comparisons to British rock legends like The Jam, The Clash, and Oasis. Their music is characterized by its catchy hooks and relatable lyrics, often touching on themes of everyday life, love, and social commentary. This combination has earned them critical acclaim and a dedicated following.

Their debut album, No Love Lost, released in 2006, immediately put them on the map with standout tracks like "Local Boy" and "Peace & Quiet." The album was praised for its raw energy and authentic indie rock vibe, establishing The Rifles as a band to watch. Subsequent albums, including Great Escape (2009), Freedom Run (2011), and None the Wiser (2014), continued to build on their success, showcasing the band’s growth and versatility while staying true to their indie roots.

In 2021, The Rifles celebrated the 15th anniversary of No Love Lost with a special reissue, which included previously unreleased tracks and acoustic versions of fan favorites. This milestone highlighted the band’s enduring appeal and their impact on the British indie rock scene.

The Rifles are renowned for their electrifying live performances, often playing to sold-out venues across the UK and Europe. Their connection with fans is a key part of their identity, with intimate gigs and crowd interactions being a hallmark of their shows.

As of 2024, The Rifles continue to produce new music and tour, maintaining their status as one of the UK’s most beloved indie rock bands.
