Biography

Biography - The Seeds

The Seeds tickets at Eventim.co.uk, your link to everything The Seeds, concerts, tours, tickets, news and reviews.

The Seeds, the pioneering American garage rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, played a crucial role in shaping the raw, rebellious sound that would later influence punk and alternative rock. Fronted by the charismatic and enigmatic Sky Saxon, the band broke through with their proto-punk anthem “Pushin’ Too Hard,” a track that became a defining hit of the 1960s garage movement and a staple of the Nuggets compilation era. With fuzz-drenched guitars, hypnotic organ lines, and a stripped-back, confrontational attitude, The Seeds stood apart from their psychedelic contemporaries, earning recognition as one of the most influential underground bands of their generation.

Live, The Seeds were known for their hypnotic intensity and uncompromising stage presence. Fans often described their performances as “raw and electrifying,” driven by Saxon’s commanding vocals and the band’s relentless rhythms. Their concerts captured the spirit of youthful defiance and sonic experimentation that defined mid-60s Los Angeles, creating an atmosphere that felt both chaotic and exhilarating. Even decades later, their music continues to resonate with audiences who crave authentic, high-voltage rock and roll.
