The Shires are one of the UK’s most successful country music acts, celebrated for their heartfelt songwriting, stunning harmonies, and ability to bridge Nashville’s classic sound with British storytelling. Since their formation, the duo has played a crucial role in bringing country music into the UK mainstream, earning multiple chart-topping albums and international acclaim.

Formed in 2013, The Shires consists of singer-songwriters Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes. The pair met through social media and quickly discovered a shared passion for country music. Their chemistry was instant, and they soon began writing and performing songs that combined the rich harmonies and emotional depth of traditional country with a distinctly British twist.

Their debut album, Brave (2015), made history as the first-ever UK country album to reach the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart. Featuring fan favourites like Nashville Grey Skies and State Lines, the record established The Shires as leading figures in the emerging UK country scene. They followed it with My Universe (2016), which became the fastest-selling British country album of all time, further cementing their status as pioneers of the genre.

Subsequent albums, including Accidentally on Purpose (2018) and Good Years (2020), saw the duo refine their sound, blending modern pop production with the heart and honesty of classic country. In 2022, they released 10 Year Plan, an album that reflected both their musical maturity and their unwavering optimism. Songs like I See Stars and Plot Twist highlighted their signature mix of catchy melodies and heartfelt emotion.

The Shires have performed at major venues and festivals across the UK, including the iconic C2C: Country to Country Festival, and have shared stages with country legends such as Shania Twain and Little Big Town. Their live shows are known for their warmth, charm, and emotional connection, with audiences drawn to the sincerity and joy that define every performance.

With multiple gold-certified albums, international recognition, and a devoted fanbase, The Shires continue to lead the UK’s growing country movement, proving that Nashville isn’t the only place where heartfelt, world-class country music can thrive.
