TVAM is the musical project of British artist Joe Oxley, celebrated for his powerful blend of shoegaze, electronic textures, post-punk energy, and retro-futuristic aesthetics. Emerging from the vibrant DIY scene of the mid-2010s, TVAM quickly gained attention with a sound that fuses driving synths, dense guitar walls, and hypnotic rhythms—music that feels both nostalgic and entirely forward-looking.
TVAM first broke through with the critically praised album Psychic Data, a record that established Oxley’s signature mix of VHS-era visuals, analogue grit, and drone-laced melodies. Tracks like These Are Not Your Memories and Narcissus showcased his ability to balance dark moodiness with addictive hooks. His live performances, accompanied by striking visual projections, elevated the project from a solo studio vision into an immersive audiovisual experience.
The follow-up album, High Art Lite, marked a bold evolution in TVAM’s sound. With richer production, expanded instrumentation, and more emotionally direct songwriting, the record pushed the project further into widescreen territory. Singles such as Piz Buin and Double Lucifer demonstrated Oxley’s gift for crafting atmospheric, pulsing anthems with a cinematic edge.
On stage, TVAM delivers a transportive experience part dream-state, part industrial dancefloor, part neon-drenched fever dream. The fusion of analogue warmth, pounding beats, and carefully curated visuals gives each performance a compelling, otherworldly intensity that resonates long after the final note.
With an ever-growing fanbase, acclaimed releases, and a reputation for unforgettable live shows, TVAM continues to carve out a unique space in modern alternative music, blending the past and future into something utterly distinctive.
