unpeople, a project brimming with energy, and impassioned animosity with the state of the worldand its effects on humanity. Guitarists Jake Crawford and Luke Caley recruited bassist Meg Mashand drummer Richard Rayner with a mission tocombine earnest lyricism and hefty riffs withcatchy melodies and luscious harmonies.

Fresh from their debut show at 2000Trees 2023 and Autumn dates with the likes of Better Lovers,Conjurer and Tigercub, unpeople’s debut single ‘smother’, released in November, has been metwith high praise. Radio 1’s Jack Saunders described it is as ‘leaving battle scars on your mind…unpeople are the extreme feelings in life’, whilst Daniel P Carter chose the track for his Tune of theWeek on the Rock Show. Further afield, it’s been featured on Sirius/XM Octane’s ‘Test Drive’ andTriple J in Australia.

The root of the band’s cause is in the name-unpeople-meaning a group of people considered tobe politically unimportant or of no value.

Determined to channel their discontent into songs that speak directly to other “unpeople”.Tackling themes of existential dread, spiralling mental health, how to measure self worth and ageneral societal disdain, like-minded thinkers can find plenty to connect with.

Live showsburst with frenzied intensity alongside effortless crowd connection, ensuring that eventhe most skeptical of attendees are convinced to join the party. The same sentiment exists onrecord too, with their unique blend of hook-laden choruses and bone-crunching breakdownsbetraying all preconceptions about what heavy music is in 2024.
