Yes is an English progressive rock band that was formed in London in 1968. The band is known for their intricate musicianship, complex compositions, and virtuosic performances. The founding members of Yes were vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford.

In the early 1970s, Yes released a series of critically acclaimed albums that helped define the progressive rock genre. These albums included "The Yes Album" (1971), "Fragile" (1971), and "Close to the Edge" (1972). The band's music featured a combination of intricate melodies, extended song structures, and instrumental prowess, with influences ranging from classical music to jazz and folk.

Yes achieved commercial success with their 1972 album "Fragile," which contained the hit single "Roundabout." The band's lineup underwent several changes over the years, with notable additions including keyboardist Rick Wakeman, guitarist Steve Howe, and drummer Alan White. This lineup, often referred to as the "classic" Yes lineup, produced successful albums such as "Tales from Topographic Oceans" (1973), "Relayer" (1974), and "Going for the One" (1977).

Yes went on to release numerous albums throughout the 1980s and beyond, exploring different musical styles and experimenting with new sounds. Despite several lineup changes and periods of inactivity, the band has maintained a dedicated fan base and continued to tour and record new music.

Yes is regarded as one of the pioneering bands in progressive rock and has had a significant influence on subsequent generations of musicians. Their intricate compositions, virtuosic performances, and adventurous musical approach have solidified their place in rock music history.
