From winning X-Factor, landing Christmas number ones, gracing the stages of UK theatres and becoming a long-time Corrie fan-favourite in his role as Aidan Connor, we caught up with the award-winning, multi-platinum artist and singer Shayne Ward ahead of his much-awaited headline tour.
A visit from the past to the future. All the hits and more.
Strictly moves will stay in the locker for now, but I’ll definitely be dancing with the fans.
Each job is different, but the preparation is the same. Learn my lines, relearn my songs… Practice practice practice.
I can’t wait to show my fans what I’ve been working on.
I’ve never been rock and roll. Always sensible…such a dad… But I’m open to suggestions lol.
When touring I’m always trying to speak to my kids.
I find a gym and a steam room, and keep my body throat and mind healthy.
Nothing beats “That’s My Goal”. It’s nostalgic for us all and holds so many incredible moments for me.
I’ve been working on new material for a while now. Taking trips to Nashville and writing in many genres.
I love being able to create what I want when I want… It’s a lovely feeling. I can’t wait to release them.
I’ve made a New Year’s resolution to finish and release everything I’ve worked on and don’t leave it sat on my Harddrive. I hope my fans are ready!
I love being able to do both… and to bounce between the two careers. It’s a blessing.
I love the challenge of portaging different characters but my heart will always be with music. Nothing comes close.
No plans in the near future unless something incredible lands on my lap.
I do love the theatre. I’d love to act at the National.
That’s a tough one. I still think my Christmas No# 1 with “That’s My Goal” will always be a personal favourite.
Anyone and everyone at Coronation Street. I learned so much from so many iconic actors. William Roach , Barbara Knox, Sally Dynevor, Jane Danson, Beverly Callard… the list goes on.
I’d love to work with Jed Mercurio the creator of Line Of Duty.
I’d love to work with Stephen Graham, I think he one the finest actors I’ve seen in a long time. A brilliant natural actor.
I very rarely listen to updated music. I’m always asking Alexa to play Smooth FM or Magic FM. I love classic songs from the past.
I always knew that music and acting would be my path so I’d say I would’ve trained to be a producer. I also think I would’ve moved to Ireland as I’m very proud of my Irish heritage. I always dreamed as a kid that I’d live in a castle… One can dream.
