ADHARMA is a project all about the unfortunate (and some good ones thrown in there too) experiences of songwriter, Charlie Draper. Predominantly focused on the experiences of being a woman, she writes to speak up for people without a voice or a platform, and to spread a message we’re all too scared to talk about.
ADHARMA by definition: is the Sanskrit antonym of dharma. It means “that which is not in accord with the dharma”. Connotations include betrayal, discord, disharmony, unnaturalness, wrongness, evil, immorality, unrighteousness, wickedness, and vice.
Charlie grew up raised in a household practicing Buddhism, where ‘dharma’ is about the nature of reality regarded as a universal truth in the teaching of Buddhism.
In essence, ADHARMA represents the trials she’s faced in life. Charlie writes to release and performs to connect. So, join her for the journey, surrounded by a heavy alternative aural landscape.
