Ae Mak is an Irish artist and creative project associated with imaginative alternative pop, expressive performance and an experimental approach to sound. Led by Aoife McCann, Ae Mak has developed a distinctive artistic identity where music, movement and visual presentation can work together, offering an alternative to conventional singer songwriter performance.
Ae Mak's work explores the possibilities of contemporary pop while embracing electronic textures, unusual arrangements and a strong visual sensibility. This multidisciplinary approach gives the project a character that extends beyond individual songs, with performance becoming an important part of how the music communicates with its audience.
Live, Ae Mak can turn music into a broader performance experience, combining sound, movement and stage presence to create something designed to be seen as well as heard. For audiences interested in alternative pop, experimental performance and independent Irish music, an Ae Mak concert offers an opportunity to experience an artist with a distinctive creative vision.
