An Afternoon with Kristin Hersh offers audiences the chance to spend time with one of the most distinctive voices in American alternative music. Kristin Hersh is best known as the founder and frontwoman of Throwing Muses, as well as for her acclaimed solo career and work with 50 Foot Wave. Across decades of music making, she has developed a reputation for intensely personal songwriting, unconventional guitar work and a creative independence that has influenced generations of alternative musicians.
Hersh has built an extensive catalogue across band and solo projects, combining raw rock music with intimate acoustic songwriting and vivid lyrical storytelling. Beyond music, she is also an author, bringing the same distinctive perspective found in her songs to her writing. Her work frequently explores memory, relationships, identity and everyday experience through language that can move from direct observation to surreal imagery.
An Afternoon with Kristin Hersh provides an intimate setting in which her songs, stories and creative personality can take centre stage. Away from the scale of a conventional rock concert, audiences can experience the detail of her songwriting and the distinctive voice that has made her such an enduring figure in independent music. For Throwing Muses followers, solo fans and anyone interested in alternative songwriting, this is a rare opportunity to experience Kristin Hersh at close range.
