Anna Meredith is a composer, producer and performer whose music moves between contemporary classical, electronic music and pop. Known for combining acoustic instruments with electronic sounds, she creates rhythmically inventive work for the concert hall, the stage and beyond. Her varied career has included orchestral commissions, film music, installations and performances with her own band.
Meredith's debut album Varmints won the Scottish Album of the Year Award, while its follow-up FIBS was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. She has also been Composer in Residence with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and written music for the BBC Proms. Her other projects include ANNO, which brings her compositions together with Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and the score for the film Eighth Grade.
Live, Anna Meredith brings together electronic and acoustic instruments to perform music from across her catalogue. Her concerts give audiences the chance to experience the intricate rhythms, melodies and instrumental textures that run through her work. For listeners interested in adventurous contemporary music, her performances offer a meeting point between composition, electronic production and the energy of a live band.
