Basshunter is Swedish singer and producer Jonas Erik Altberg, who shot to fame in 2005 with the release of his first British single. Although going under the pseudonym Basshunter, Jonas Erik Altberg is a solo singer and songwriter. His musical style is mostly Eurodance with rave and club elements. Basshunter has been active as a music act since 1997. He released his debut album as Basshunter in 2002.

Jonas Erik Alteberg was born in 1984 in Sweden. He first took on the name Basshunter in 2002 and began writing and producing music using a computer programme. He released the album The Same Old Shit in 2002 independently, selling copies of the album through his website. In 2004 he followed this up with his next release titled The Bassmachine. In 2004 he also began working as a DJ, bringing attention to his own music. 2006 saw Basshunter sign his first official record deal with the label Warner Music and he set about writing and recording a new album of songs. After signing his record deal, Basshunter went on to release his first album with Warner Music, called “LOL”.

Basshunter released the album Now You’re Gone in 2008. His second release on a major label, it contained five singles including the hits All I Ever Wanted, I Miss You, and Walk on Water. The album also contained several English remakes of earlier Basshunter songs. The album reached number one on the UK charts, firmly establishing Basshunter as a top Eurodance act. In 2009 Basshunter began work on his next album, which would come to be titled Bass Generation. Basshunter’s fifth album was released in late 2009 and features the songs Numbers, Every Morning, and Saturday. Basshunter promoted this album by running a competition where fans could design and choose the cover art. Basshunter also appeared on the UK edition of celebrity Big Brother in 2008. Proving popular with fans, Basshunter finished in fourth place on the programme, raising his profile and giving him a new batch of fans.

In late 2009 he embarked on his latest tour, the Basshunter Bass Generation tour. The tour included stops all over Europe and the UK. The latter part of 2010 sees Basshunter on the road again, playing dates all across the UK including Newcastle, London and Cardiff. Known for his great stage shows, this is a tour that music fans won’t want to miss out on, and Basshunter tickets are in huge demand.
