Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin unite for the Stygian Bough Tour, bringing together doom metal, dark folk and deeply atmospheric songwriting. Seattle duo Bell Witch have become one of the most distinctive names in funeral doom, creating expansive compositions from bass, drums and vocals. Aerial Ruin, the project led by musician Erik Moggridge, brings haunting acoustic textures and intimate songwriting into the collaboration, creating a compelling meeting of heaviness and fragility.
Their collaborative Stygian Bough material explores the natural connection between Bell Witch's monumental doom and Aerial Ruin's dark acoustic music. Slow moving riffs, spacious arrangements and layered vocals create a sound that rewards patient listening, with moments of crushing weight balanced by passages of striking delicacy. The collaboration demonstrates how extreme metal and folk inspired songwriting can occupy the same atmospheric world.
Live, the Stygian Bough experience places atmosphere at the centre of the performance. Extended compositions unfold gradually, allowing tension, repetition and dynamics to transform the venue into an immersive musical environment. For fans of funeral doom, experimental metal, dark folk and ambitious heavy music, the Bell Witch & Aerial Ruin Stygian Bough Tour offers an opportunity to experience a distinctive collaboration in its most powerful setting.
