Benjamin John Howard (born 24 April 1987) is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and composer. He self-released his debut EP, Games in the Dark, in 2008, followed by two more EPs, These Waters (2009) and Old Pine (2010). In 2011, Howard signed with Island Records and released his debut studio album, Every Kingdom, which reached number four on the UK Albums Chart and was certified triple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). His subsequent EPs include Ben Howard Live (2011) and The Burgh Island E.P. (2012).

At the 2013 Brit Awards, Howard won British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. That same year, he performed on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival. His second studio album, I Forget Where We Were (2014), peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart.

In 2017, Howard joined the band A Blaze of Feather. His third studio album, Noonday Dream (2018), debuted at number four on the UK Albums Chart. Howard released his fourth album, Collections from the Whiteout, in March 2021, followed by his fifth album, Is It?, in June 2023.

Born in Richmond, London, Howard moved to Totnes, Devon, at the age of eight. Raised by musical parents who exposed him to 1960s and 1970s singer-songwriters like John Martyn, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, and Simon & Garfunkel, Howard began writing songs at eleven. He later attended University College Falmouth to study Journalism but left six months before completing his course to pursue music full-time. His musical career took off with local performances around Devon, eventually leading to a record deal with Island Records.

In 2014, due to his association with Totnes, Howard was featured on the 10 Totnes pound note. Howard's music has been featured in various media, including TV shows such as The 100, House, The Walking Dead, The Following, Suits, and Reign.
