Roy R. Haylock, better known as Bianca Del Rio, is an American drag queen, comedian, actor, and costume designer. Born on June 27, 1975, in Gretna, Louisiana, he grew up in a large family and began his career as a costume designer, winning awards for his work in theater. In 1996, he started performing as the drag queen Bianca Del Rio in New Orleans, winning several awards for his performances.
Del Rio gained national attention when she appeared on the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, ultimately winning the competition. She became known for her sharp wit and comedic talent. Following her win, Del Rio embarked on a successful career in stand-up comedy, touring with her own shows and becoming the first drag queen to headline at Wembley Arena with "It's Jester Joke" in 2019.
In addition to her stand-up career, Del Rio has appeared in various films and television shows, including starring roles in the independent films "Hurricane Bianca" and its sequel. She also starred in the West End musical "Everybody's Talking About Jamie" as retired drag queen Hugo Battersby/Loco Chanelle.
Del Rio has been recognized as one of the most powerful drag queens in America and continues to be a prominent figure in the drag community, known for her quick wit, comedic talent, and fierce persona.
