Black Lakes are a UK alternative metal band whose music combines heavy guitar work, melodic passages and emotionally charged songwriting. Formed in South Wales and South West England, the band have developed a modern sound that brings together elements of alternative metal, hard rock and contemporary heavy music. Their combination of melody and aggression gives Black Lakes an identity capable of appealing to listeners across different corners of the rock and metal scene.

The band's debut album, For All We Have Left, showcased their ability to balance muscular riffs and atmospheric textures with memorable vocal melodies. Black Lakes build songs around contrasts between heaviness and vulnerability, giving their material both physical impact and emotional weight. Their evolving catalogue demonstrates an ambition to create accessible yet powerful modern metal without losing the intensity that drives the genre.

Black Lakes concerts bring the heavier elements of their recordings into sharper focus. Powerful guitars, dynamic vocals and driving rhythms create an energetic environment where melodic choruses can sit alongside more aggressive passages. For fans of alternative metal and modern hard rock, seeing Black Lakes live offers the opportunity to experience a British band combining atmosphere, melody and heaviness in a performance built for the stage.
