BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Originally a hip-hop group, BTS has since expanded their musical style to encompass various genres, with lyrics often addressing themes like mental health, youth struggles, self-love, and the challenges of fame.

Their breakthrough came with the global success of their album Wings (2016) and the 2017 single "Mic Drop," which marked their entry into the US market. BTS became the first South Korean act to top the Billboard 200 with Love Yourself: Tear (2018) and achieved multiple number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including the Grammy-nominated "Dynamite." The band holds numerous records, including being the first Korean act to sell out Wembley Stadium and Rose Bowl.

They are the best-selling musical act in South Korean history, with over 40 million albums sold, and have received multiple awards, including American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and Grammy nominations. Beyond music, BTS has made significant cultural and philanthropic contributions, including addressing the United Nations and partnering with UNICEF on the "Love Myself" campaign. As of 2023, the group is on a temporary hiatus while members complete their mandatory military service, with plans to reunite in 2025.
