Cestra is the latest form taken by shapeshifting British vocalist and songwriter, Kat Marsh. With her past work being dubbed everything from alt-pop to nu-metal, the “daring pop provocateur” [Clash] goes darker and deeper than ever on her new project, encompassing dissonant industrial sounds, choral-orchestral detours and her exceptional vocal prowess. Following the wrap-up of her longterm alt-rock band Lionface, Marsh founded deconstructed choral project, Choir Noir, to perform with Bring Me The Horizon at their seminal Royal Albert Hall show in 2016. This led to collaborations with major artists, millions of combined views and a growing fanbase on YouTube.
Having also lent her formidable vocals to Bring Me The Horizon’s Grammy-nominated, No.1 album ‘Amo’, she was asked to join them on their 2019 world tour – serving as a dancer/flamethrower performer and collaborating with Oli Sykes on styling his dystopian vision for the show. She also performed in several of their music videos, including the hugely popular ‘Ludens’.
In 2020 she arranged and led Choir Noir on Architects No.1 album ‘For Those That Wish To Exist’.
In 2022 she collaborated with TesseracT on their fifth studio album War Of Being, taking on the role of vocal producer and writer. Her debut album, ‘Portal’, was released in 2020 as a series of audio-visual singles.
