Chúpame El Dedo are a Colombian musical project formed by Eblis Álvarez of Meridian Brothers and Pedro Ojeda of Romperayo. Their adventurous sound combines elements of extreme metal and electronic music with rhythms associated with salsa, cumbia, currulao and reggaeton. The duo bring together their experience in Colombia's experimental music scene to create an unusual and energetic blend of styles.
The project began with a performance commissioned for Berlin's Evil Music festival in 2013. What was originally conceived as a one-off collaboration continued beyond that appearance, leading to recordings including the self-titled Chúpame El Dedo and No Te Metas Con Satan. Their music pairs distorted voices and metal influences with tropical rhythms, exploring the possibilities of combining seemingly distant genres.
On stage, Chúpame El Dedo bring their experimental music to audiences through performances that reflect the project's origins as a live collaboration. Álvarez and Ojeda have appeared at venues and festivals internationally, sharing their combination of heavy sounds and dance rhythms. For listeners interested in Colombian music and genre-crossing experimentation, the duo offer a distinctive live experience.
