Colossal Squid is the musical project of drummer and composer Adam Betts, known for combining explosive live drumming with electronic sounds and experimental production. Betts has built a reputation as a highly versatile musician, working across electronic, experimental and contemporary music while demonstrating how acoustic percussion and technology can collide in exciting new ways.
The Colossal Squid project places rhythm at the centre of the music, with Betts using drums, electronics and intricate patterns to create performances that can feel both intensely physical and precisely constructed. His musical background and collaborative work have allowed him to move comfortably between complex experimental ideas and the immediate energy associated with electronic and club music.
Live, Colossal Squid turns percussion into a spectacle of movement, rhythm and sound. Watching intricate drum patterns develop in real time adds a physical dimension that recordings alone cannot capture, while electronic elements expand the music beyond a conventional drum performance. For fans of experimental electronica, adventurous percussion and musicianship with genuine intensity, Colossal Squid offers a compelling concert experience.
