Dave Milligan is a Scottish pianist, composer and arranger whose music moves between jazz, folk and Celtic traditions. Raised in the Scottish Borders, he studied at the City of Leeds College of Music before returning to Scotland, where he established himself as a pianist and collaborator.
His work ranges from solo piano and jazz trio recordings to music for larger ensembles. With harpist and composer Corrina Hewat, he co-founded The Unusual Suspects for Celtic Connections in 2003, bringing folk and jazz musicians together in a large-scale ensemble.
As a live performer, Dave Milligan combines improvisation with an interest in musical traditions and collaboration. Whether playing solo or alongside other musicians, he brings an expressive approach to the piano that appeals to audiences across jazz and contemporary folk music.
