DJ Target is a British DJ, broadcaster, producer and influential figure in UK urban music, widely recognised for his contributions to grime and British hip hop. Originally associated with the pioneering grime collective Roll Deep, Target helped shape the early development of a genre that would become one of the defining sounds of contemporary British music. His career has combined music production, radio presenting and support for emerging artists, establishing him as an important voice within the UK scene.
As a broadcaster on BBC Radio 1Xtra, DJ Target has championed British rap, grime and other urban music styles, introducing listeners to established performers and rising talent. His work has extended into television and publishing, including his book "Grime Kids", which documents the origins and cultural significance of the grime movement. Through these projects, Target has contributed to preserving the history of a musical scene that developed from London's underground communities into an internationally recognised cultural force.
Live, DJ Target brings his extensive musical knowledge and experience to the decks, combining grime classics, UK rap favourites and contemporary club tracks. His sets celebrate the evolution of British urban music while maintaining the energy and immediacy that made the original grime scene so exciting. For fans of grime, hip hop and UK club culture, a DJ Target performance offers an opportunity to experience music selected by someone closely connected to its development and continuing influence.
