Espen Eriksen Trio are a Norwegian jazz group led by pianist and composer Espen Eriksen, with bassist Lars Tormod Jenset and drummer Andreas Bye. Known for melodic compositions, spacious arrangements and sensitive interplay, the trio have established an international reputation within contemporary European jazz. Their music favours clarity and emotional expression, demonstrating how understated performances can create a powerful and absorbing listening experience.

Since forming in 2007, Espen Eriksen Trio have developed a catalogue characterised by memorable melodies and carefully balanced improvisation. Albums including "You Had Me At Goodbye", "Never Ending January" and "What Took You So Long" showcase their ability to combine Scandinavian jazz traditions with accessible songwriting and sophisticated musicianship. Their collaborations with British saxophonist Andy Sheppard have further expanded the group's sound and international profile.

In concert, Espen Eriksen Trio place communication between the musicians at the heart of the performance. Piano, bass and drums interact with remarkable sensitivity, allowing quiet passages, melodic themes and improvised sections to develop naturally. For dedicated jazz followers as well as listeners discovering contemporary Nordic jazz, an Espen Eriksen Trio concert offers an intimate evening of accomplished musicianship, beautiful melodies and carefully crafted musical conversation.
