Filthy Militia are a London based ska punk band delivering an energetic combination of punk attitude, ska rhythms and socially conscious songwriting. Emerging from the UK independent scene, the band channel the lively spirit of ska punk through upbeat tempos, punchy arrangements and a performance style created for busy venues and audiences ready to move.
Their music draws on the long relationship between ska and punk in British alternative culture, combining rhythmic guitar work and infectious grooves with the urgency and directness of punk. Filthy Militia bring these influences into a contemporary setting, creating songs that can appeal to longtime ska followers as well as listeners discovering the genre through today's underground scene.
Live performance is where ska punk can achieve its full impact, and Filthy Militia's energetic sound is naturally suited to the stage. Fast rhythms, lively instrumentation and audience interaction create the conditions for dancing and a communal atmosphere from the opening song onwards. For fans of ska, punk and independent live music, a Filthy Militia concert offers a night of upbeat rhythms, rebellious energy and plenty of movement.
