Fish, born Derek William Dick on April 25, 1958, in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a renowned Scottish singer, songwriter, and occasional actor. He rose to fame as the lead singer and lyricist of the neo-prog band Marillion from 1981 to 1988. With Marillion, Fish achieved significant chart success, including eleven UK Top 40 singles and five Top Ten albums, notably reaching number one with "Misplaced Childhood." His solo career, marked by exploration of contemporary pop and traditional folk, garnered further success with five Top 40 singles and a Top 10 album.

Fish's distinctive voice, often likened to a blend of Roger Daltrey and Peter Gabriel, coupled with his poetic lyrics, earned him recognition as one of rock's greatest frontmen. His contributions to Marillion's rise were hailed by Classic Rock, ranking him among "The 100 Greatest Frontmen." Planet Rock listeners voted him number 37 in a poll of the greatest voices in rock music.

In 2020, Fish released his final studio album, "Weltschmerz," to critical acclaim and commercial success. He embarked on a farewell tour in 2024, marking the end of an illustrious career spanning decades.

Great to hear songs from the Vigil album and from the recent Weltschmerz album. It worked well together. Some of the Vigil stuff has been rearranged for Fish's voice as it is now, but it worked well. Highlights for me were Gentlemen's Excuse Me (from Vigil) and Man With A Stick (from Weltschmerz) along with Marillion classics He Knows You Know and Fugazi. Fish was on fine form and guitarist John Mitchell played a blinder too.

Arrived a little late due parking issues, stood at back behind mixing desk, found myself peering around a column for most of the gig, Bar selection poor, cans only and wine could only be purchased by the full bottle (750ml) Can’t fault sound or performance though

We have been to this venue before for Fish conventions, and the atmosphere that night was buzzing. The fans were all out to have a great time, now we are finally allowed to see live music once again. Fish and the band sounded the best they have done for years. The venue however has suffered in our absence, the decor needs updating, there seems to have been a leak judging by the ceiling.
