Guenther Steiner (born 7 April 1965) is an Italian-American motorsport engineer and former team manager, known for his role as Team Principal of Haas Formula One Team from 2016 to 2023.

Born in Merano, South Tyrol, Steiner began his career as a mechanic in the World Rally Championship for Mazda Rally Team Europe (1986-1988). He advanced through various roles in rally teams, including Jolly Club and Prodrive's Allstar Rally team, eventually becoming the director of engineering for the Ford World Rally Team.

In 2001, Steiner became the managing director of Jaguar Racing in Formula One, reorganizing the team and reducing costs. Despite these efforts, Jaguar underperformed, leading to Steiner's replacement in 2003. He later joined Red Bull Racing as technical operations director, contributing to the team's improved performance.

In 2014, Steiner was appointed team principal of the newly established Haas F1 Team. Under his leadership, Haas became the first American constructor to compete in F1 in 30 years, debuting in the 2016 season with a strong performance. Steiner became well-known for his candid personality, particularly through his appearances on the Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to Survive. He authored a book in 2023 titled Surviving to Drive: A Year Inside Formula 1.

In January 2024, Haas did not renew Steiner's contract, replacing him with Ayao Komatsu. Steiner transitioned to a new role as a specialist commentator for RTL, a German TV channel broadcasting F1, starting with the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix.

Steiner's career highlights his significant impact on motorsport, both in rally and Formula One, through his leadership and technical expertise.
