Iron Maiden are one of the most iconic and influential heavy metal bands of all time, celebrated for their thunderous sound, theatrical live shows, and unparalleled longevity. Formed in East London in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris, the band became pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, reshaping the genre with their ambitious musicianship, storytelling lyrics, and powerful stage presence.

Their self-titled debut album Iron Maiden (1980) introduced a raw energy that set them apart, but it was 1982’s The Number of the Beast—the first to feature vocalist Bruce Dickinson—that catapulted them to global fame. The album’s blend of melodic guitar harmonies, galloping basslines, and dramatic themes made songs like Run to the Hills and Hallowed Be Thy Name instant classics. Subsequent albums such as Piece of Mind (1983), Powerslave (1984), and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988) cemented Iron Maiden’s status as one of the greatest metal bands in history, featuring epic tracks like The Trooper, Aces High, and Can I Play with Madness.

After a brief lineup change in the 1990s, the band reunited with Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith, releasing a string of acclaimed albums including Brave New World (2000), A Matter of Life and Death (2006), and The Book of Souls (2015). In 2021, they unveiled Senjutsu, a grand, cinematic record that reaffirmed their creative vitality well into their fifth decade as a band.

Renowned for their spectacular live shows, Iron Maiden concerts are legendary events featuring elaborate stage designs, pyrotechnics, and the ever-present mascot Eddie. Their world tours have filled stadiums across continents, uniting generations of fans in a shared love for metal’s most enduring anthems.

Iron Maiden rocked. They truly are brilliant and super fit. Brilliant sound in the arena which I thought was surprising as last time I saw them was at Twickenham and thought it couldnt get any better.

Went to see them in Sheffield yesterday. What a fantastic gig!! The lads were really on form. Can`t wait to see them again. Bruce sang brilliantly and the band played spot on. The guitar solos were out of this world.

Had a fantastic night in Aberdeen, firstly Airbourne took to the stage and performed well, was the first time Id seen them and yes they now have another fan. There was a bit of a break whilst the stage was prepared for Iron Maiden. It began with a long intro and had the crowd screaming for the band to come out front, then from back stage Bruce started with the title track The Final Frontier before his energetic leap onto the stage with the rest of the band.
