Jah Wobble And The Invaders Of The Heart bring together dub, post punk, world music and experimental influences through the unmistakable bass playing of Jah Wobble. Born John Wardle, Wobble first became widely known as the original bassist of Public Image Ltd, where his deep and spacious bass sound played an important role in the development of post punk. He later established Invaders Of The Heart as a vehicle for exploring a much broader musical landscape.
Across his career, Jah Wobble has consistently moved beyond conventional genre boundaries, drawing inspiration from reggae and dub while incorporating influences from music around the world. With Invaders Of The Heart, that adventurous approach becomes central to the sound, with powerful bass lines providing a foundation for rhythmic experimentation, improvisation and expansive arrangements. The result is music that feels rooted in dub while remaining open to new directions and unexpected combinations.
Live, Jah Wobble And The Invaders Of The Heart turn these influences into a deeply rhythmic concert experience. Wobble's bass takes on a physical presence in the venue, while the musicians around him create grooves that can move from hypnotic and atmospheric to energetic and danceable. For fans of dub, post punk and adventurous live music, their concerts offer the opportunity to experience one of British alternative music's most distinctive bass players at the centre of an accomplished and exploratory band.
