Jah Wobble is one of the most distinctive bass players to emerge from the British post punk movement, renowned for the deep, dub influenced sound he brought to Public Image Ltd. As a founding member of the band, Wobble played an essential role in the creation of the landmark album "Metal Box", combining heavy basslines with experimental rock, dub and an adventurous approach that helped redefine the possibilities of post punk.
JAH WOBBLE'S METAL BOX, REBUILT IN DUB revisits that influential musical territory through Wobble's lifelong connection with dub. The project places his unmistakable bass sound at the centre, exploring the spacious rhythms, repetition and low frequency power that made "Metal Box" such an important recording. It offers both longtime followers and newer listeners an opportunity to encounter familiar material from a fresh perspective.
Live, the combination of post punk experimentation and heavyweight dub gives the music an especially physical impact. Wobble's basslines provide the foundation for a performance where rhythm, space and improvisation can transform the original material into something immediate and unpredictable. For fans of Jah Wobble, Public Image Ltd, dub and pioneering post punk, JAH WOBBLE'S METAL BOX, REBUILT IN DUB offers the chance to experience a landmark musical legacy reimagined on stage.
