Following the release of the critically-acclaimed album Weathervanes last summer and off the back of picking up the Trailblazer Award at the AMA UK Awards, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have announced their return to the UK for a run of dates this November.
Known for their captivating live shows the seven date 2024 tour kicks off at Brighton Dome on Monday November 18th, and culminates with a show at London’s Eventim Apollo on Monday November 25th. Jason also plays two very special, sold-out intimate shows in London this weekend at Cadogan Hall tonight and Union Chapel on Sunday.
Michael Jason Isbell, born on February 1, 1979, is a highly acclaimed American singer-songwriter and actor. Hailing from Green Hill, Alabama, he began his musical journey with notable stints in the band Drive-By Truckers from 2001 to 2007. Isbell has made significant contributions to the music scene through his solo career and collaboration with The 400 Unit. His achievements include winning four Grammy Awards.
Isbell's upbringing in North Alabama was steeped in musical influences, with family gatherings featuring gospel and bluegrass music. He started playing instruments at a young age, eventually forming a garage band and playing at the Grand Ole Opry by the age of 16. Isbell attended the University of Memphis but left to pursue a career in music.
His solo debut, "Sirens of the Ditch," was released in 2007, and he gained widespread recognition with his fourth album, "Southeastern," in 2013. The album earned him multiple Americana Music Awards, marking a turning point in his career. Beyond music, Isbell has ventured into acting with roles in TV series like Squidbillies and Billions, as well as films such as Deadwood: The Movie. His major on-screen acting debut is set to be in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon (2023).
