John Otway And Wild Willy Barrett are a distinctive British musical partnership known for combining rock, folk, comedy and eccentric showmanship. Their collaboration stretches back to the 1970s, when singer and performer John Otway joined forces with multi instrumentalist Wild Willy Barrett. Together they developed an unconventional act built around contrasting personalities, musical invention and a willingness to turn a concert into something far less predictable than an ordinary rock show.
Otway became widely known through the song "Really Free", while his energetic personality and unconventional career have helped him maintain a devoted following for decades. Barrett brings formidable musicianship and an inventive approach to instruments and arrangements, providing the perfect contrast to Otway's unpredictable performance style. Their long partnership has produced a catalogue and stage act filled with humour, character and unmistakably British eccentricity.
Live, John Otway And Wild Willy Barrett turn their contrasting talents into an entertaining mixture of music and comedy. Songs can be accompanied by stories, visual humour and spontaneous exchanges between the pair, giving their concerts an intimacy that rewards both longtime followers and first time audiences. Few performers combine genuine musicianship and comic unpredictability quite like this enduring partnership.
