John Otway is a British singer, songwriter and entertainer whose unconventional career has made him a cult favourite of UK rock and comedy audiences. First attracting widespread attention in the 1970s, Otway became known not only for his music but also for his fearless stage antics, self deprecating humour and determination to turn the unpredictable course of a music career into part of the entertainment itself.
Otway's best known recordings include "Really Free", originally recorded with Wild Willy Barrett, and "Bunsen Burner", which brought him back to the UK charts decades after his initial breakthrough. His career has developed through a particularly close relationship with his audience, combining rock songwriting with comedy and an enduring willingness to approach the music business in his own eccentric fashion.
John Otway & The Big Band expands that personality into a full live production, combining songs, musicianship, stories and the unpredictability that has long defined his concerts. Otway's performances are as much about entertainment as musical nostalgia, making each appearance an opportunity to experience a genuine British cult performer in action. For longtime followers and curious newcomers alike, the show promises music delivered with humour, character and considerable enthusiasm.
