Jools Holland is a British pianist, bandleader, composer and broadcaster whose career has brought together boogie woogie, jazz, blues, soul and rhythm and blues. Originally a member of Squeeze, Holland developed a wide ranging career that has made him one of the most familiar champions of live music in Britain. His distinctive piano playing and enthusiasm for collaboration have connected generations of performers and audiences across numerous musical styles.
Alongside his recording and touring career, Holland became widely known as the host of the BBC music programme Later... with Jools Holland and the annual Hootenanny. With his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, he has worked with an extraordinary range of guest singers and musicians, creating performances where established classics, original material and unexpected collaborations can sit comfortably alongside one another.
Jools Holland concerts are built around exceptional musicianship and the joyful energy of a large live ensemble. Piano, brass, rhythm and vocals combine to create a rich sound capable of moving from swinging jazz and blues to soul and energetic boogie woogie. With guest performers often adding another dimension to the programme, a Jools Holland live show offers music fans an evening shaped by spontaneity, collaboration and a lifelong passion for performance.
