Junior, also known as Junior Giscombe, is a British singer and songwriter recognised as an important voice in British soul and R&B. Born in London, he achieved major success during the early 1980s with "Mama Used to Say", a distinctive soul and funk track that became a UK hit and also introduced his music to audiences in the United States. The song remains closely associated with the vibrant British soul movement of the period.

Throughout his career, Junior has combined soul, funk, R&B and pop influences with smooth vocals and memorable melodies. His catalogue includes albums such as Ji and Acquired Taste, while his collaborations and continued involvement in British music have helped maintain his connection with soul audiences. His work represents an era when UK artists were developing their own distinctive interpretation of contemporary soul and funk.

Live, Junior brings his soulful catalogue and decades of performance experience to the stage. His concerts provide an opportunity to hear established favourites alongside material from across his career, with his vocals and natural sense of groove remaining central to the experience.
