Kilvo's 60th / Leeds Punk Rock Spring Uprising brings birthday celebrations and the spirit of punk rock together for a live event built around loud music, community and independent culture. Leeds has a long relationship with alternative music, making the city a natural setting for a gathering that celebrates the direct, energetic and rebellious qualities associated with punk.
Punk rock has always been about more than individual songs, with its strongest scenes built around venues, friendships, independent promoters and audiences who keep returning to support live music. Leeds has contributed to that tradition through generations of bands and concertgoers, while the Spring Uprising concept captures the communal character that continues to make punk events distinctive.
Combining Kilvo's 60th celebration with a punk rock gathering gives the event a personal character alongside the music. Audiences can expect the atmosphere of a celebration as well as the intensity of a live punk show, making it an ideal occasion for friends, scene regulars and anyone who believes punk is best experienced together in front of a stage.
