Live wrestling with Angelos Epithemiou combines the unpredictable spectacle of professional wrestling with the unmistakable comedy character created and performed by Dan Renton Skinner. Angelos Epithemiou became widely known to British audiences through Shooting Stars, bringing an awkward, surreal and deliberately unconventional comic presence to television and live performance.
Professional wrestling already combines athleticism, theatrical storytelling, larger than life personalities and audience participation, making the addition of Angelos Epithemiou an especially unusual proposition. The combination opens the door to comedy, chaos and unexpected interactions alongside the physical action taking place in the ring.
In person, wrestling thrives on audience reaction, with every entrance, confrontation and dramatic moment amplified by the people surrounding the ring. Adding Angelos Epithemiou to that environment creates an event for wrestling followers, comedy fans and audiences simply searching for an unconventional night of entertainment where almost anything could happen.
