Mattiel is an American indie rock project led by Atlanta based singer and songwriter Mattiel Brown, known for a distinctive sound that combines garage rock, alternative pop, psychedelia and vintage influences. Emerging in the late 2010s, Mattiel quickly attracted attention with powerful vocals, bold songwriting and music that draws inspiration from classic rock while maintaining a fresh, contemporary character. The result is a confident and instantly recognisable style that appeals to fans of indie, garage and alternative music.
The self titled debut album Mattiel introduced a collection of energetic and characterful songs, including the standout track "Whites of Their Eyes". Later releases such as Satis Factory and Georgia Gothic expanded the project's musical identity, combining infectious guitar driven melodies with atmospheric production and memorable vocal performances. Working alongside guitarist and producer Jonah Swilley, Brown has continued to develop Mattiel into a distinctive presence within modern independent music.
Live, Mattiel brings these songs to the stage with energy, personality and a strong rock and roll spirit. Driving guitars, commanding vocals and rhythmic grooves give the music an additional intensity in concert, while quieter moments reveal the detail and versatility behind the songwriting. For audiences looking for contemporary indie rock with vintage character, psychedelic colour and plenty of attitude, a Mattiel concert offers an exciting opportunity to experience the music at its most immediate.
