Every now and then a young band comes along who shake you from your reveries about pop’s golden past and remind you that there are still classic chapters to be written.
Raised on a steady diet of Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Womack, Smokey Robinson, and the Gallagher bros, London band New Street Adventure – Nick Corbin (vocals and guitar), Ashley Hayden (bass), Billy Farr (lead guitar), Charlie Myers (keys) and Jeremy Paul (drums) – blend social commentary nous, anthemic swell and an underdog grit to deliver their new wave soul.
Produced by Mitch Ayling of The Milk, No Hard Feelings will be out on legendary Acid Jazz Records on the 20th October, shortly preceded by the digital single, "Be Somebody".
In July they put out their new single “On Our Front Doorstep”, a tasty preview of the New Street sound, which is already gaining some good spins - most recently BBC6’s “Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show”, BBC London’s Robert Elms show – with the band performing the new single live – and Amazing Radio, where Gary Crowley (who hosted them inhis first show in 2012) has interviewed singer Nick Corbin and bassist Ashley Hayden.
