OTALA are a Nottingham based experimental post punk band whose music combines angular instrumentation, atmospheric arrangements and an adventurous approach to composition. Emerging from the British independent music scene, the group have developed a distinctive sound that moves between spoken word influenced vocals, jazz inspired elements and the intensity of alternative rock. Their unconventional musical identity makes them an intriguing name for listeners interested in the more exploratory side of contemporary guitar music.
The band's sound is characterised by shifting rhythms, expressive instrumentation and arrangements that move between restrained passages and powerful crescendos. Drawing from the creative possibilities of post punk, experimental rock and jazz, OTALA create music that rewards attentive listening while maintaining a strong sense of emotional urgency.
