Peter Frampton was raised in London, and while he was still a young boy taught himself to play the guitar. He went to school with David Bowie, and would later go on to tour and record with the man himself. In his latest album, Thank You Mr Churchill, Peter goes back to his childhood to ponder what could have been.
"It starts with my birth, in which I thank Mr. Churchill for bringing my father back from the Second World War,” says Frampton of his new set. “I woke up one morning and I wondered what would have happened if Winston Churchill hadn’t been at the helm and the British and the Allies had not won. Would my dad have not come back? Would I be here? Probably not.” Peter Frampton concerts and tickets would never have existed - for that, we thank Mr. Churchill, too!
When Peter was only 16, he fronted the British band The Herd, as well as playing guitar. It was from this point that Peter Frampton tickets would start to become worth something. When he was 18, he co-founded the supergroup and seminal rock act Humble Pie.
His fifth album, Peter Frampton Comes Alive!, is one of the bestselling live records of all time, which is partly why Peter Frampton tickets sell so well. What could be a better compliment? To be a musician is to entertain - and he clearly does it well.
Throught Mr Churchill, you can hear Peter's real passion for music and the meaning behind his songs. The emotional instrumental, Suite: Liberté, showcases his expressive guitar-playing.
“I pick up a guitar every day. My form of practice is a combination of limbering up and writing all at the same time,” he says. “Every day I find new things. It’s always better when I don’t think and I just play."
During the course of his illustrious 40-year career, millions of Peter Frampton tickets have been sold. Despite this, he has never become complacent with his songwriting, and admits he's his own worst critic.
"Until I drop, I’ll still be trying to make myself a better person and that’s how I do it, through my music.”
