Poison Ruin are a Philadelphia based punk band whose music combines raw punk energy with post punk atmosphere, heavy distortion and imagery inspired by medieval fantasy. Initially emerging as a solo recording project before developing into a full band, Poison Ruin have created a distinctive sound that feels simultaneously primitive and imaginative, pairing abrasive guitars with driving rhythms and an underground production style.
Releases including Harvest have helped introduce Poison Ruin to a wider international audience, while their combination of punk aggression and unusual thematic influences has distinguished them within contemporary underground music. Their songs can feel dark, urgent and deliberately rough around the edges, drawing together elements of anarchic punk, post punk and lo fi rock without losing the band's individual identity.
Live, Poison Ruin translate that uncompromising sound into an intense concert experience built around volume, momentum and physical energy. The band's rough textures and forceful rhythms are particularly suited to intimate venues, where the distance between performers and audience can almost disappear. For listeners drawn to adventurous punk and darker underground sounds, a Poison Ruin concert offers an opportunity to experience one of the more distinctive voices in contemporary punk music.
