Rare Americans is a Canadian-Slovak alternative rock band based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded by brothers James and Jared Priestner, the band also includes bassist Jan Cajka and drummer Duran Ritz. Noted for their animated music videos and distinctive sound, they received a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2023. Their music, produced by Ben Kaplan, has garnered critical acclaim, with their song "Brittle Bones Nicky" earning Kaplan the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Award at the Juno Awards of 2020.
