Rob Heron and Conrad Bird bring together two musicians closely associated with roots driven live music, combining skilled playing with an appreciation for vintage sounds and energetic performance. Rob Heron is known as the frontman of Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra, whose music draws from western swing, blues, country, jazz and rock and roll, creating a lively style rooted in classic influences without simply recreating the past.
Conrad Bird is known for his work with Newcastle based roots band Holy Moly and the Crackers, bringing his own experience of folk, blues and high energy live performance to the collaboration. Together, Heron and Bird can explore the common ground between roots traditions, songwriting and musicianship, making their joint appearances particularly appealing to audiences who enjoy intimate performances with plenty of character.
Live, the combination offers an opportunity to hear accomplished musicians working in a setting where songs, instrumental interplay and spontaneity can take priority. For fans of folk, blues, Americana, country and vintage inspired roots music, Rob Heron and Conrad Bird provide an entertaining concert experience built around musical chemistry and the simple pleasure of hearing great songs performed live.
