ShitKid is the lo fi punk project created by Swedish musician Asa Soderqvist, known for a raw and unconventional sound that draws together garage rock, punk, grunge and alternative music. Emerging during the mid 2010s, ShitKid quickly attracted attention with deliberately rough production, distorted guitars and direct songwriting. The project developed a distinctive identity by embracing imperfection and spontaneity, creating music that feels immediate, rebellious and refreshingly unpredictable.
Releases including Fish, Detention and Duo Limbo demonstrate the range of ShitKid's musical approach, moving between abrasive garage rock, melodic songwriting and experimental ideas. Soderqvist's distinctive vocals and independent creative outlook remain central to the project, giving the music a personality that stands apart within the Scandinavian alternative scene. ShitKid's catalogue offers plenty to explore for listeners drawn to underground punk, garage rock and uncompromising independent music.
Live, ShitKid brings that unpolished energy directly to the stage, where distorted guitars, driving rhythms and an unpredictable performance style complement the project's DIY character. The immediacy of the music makes it particularly suited to intimate venues, where the boundary between performer and audience can feel especially close. For listeners who prefer alternative music with personality rather than polish, a ShitKid concert offers an opportunity to experience the project's distinctive sound in its most direct form.
