Skinny Living signed with RCA Records in 2017 and later with Polydor in 2019. That year, they received notable attention with their tracks featured in Clash Magazine, performed over 250 shows, and headlined Live at Leeds. In 2020, they were set to tour with
The Kaiser Chiefs and headline their own shows in London and Leeds.
With over 60 million streams worldwide, the band took a hiatus in 2020. During this period, they signed with Parlophone and released an EP titled "Textures" under the alias 'New Familiar'.
