Svavar Knutur is an Icelandic singer songwriter and storyteller known for intimate folk songs that balance tenderness, humour and emotional honesty. Drawing inspiration from Icelandic culture, nature and personal experience, his music combines acoustic instrumentation with thoughtful songwriting and a warm vocal style. His work moves comfortably between melancholy and optimism, giving his songs a deeply human quality.

Over the course of his career, Svavar Knutur has developed an international following through albums, collaborations and extensive touring. His songwriting often explores love, loss, hope and the complicated emotions found in everyday life, while his arrangements allow the lyrics and melodies plenty of room to breathe. This understated approach has made him a distinctive voice within Nordic folk and contemporary singer songwriter music.
